    Impulse One Direct

    June 16th, 2008

Look what I finally got working! An online store!

The front page to the new storeA look at the product page

Impulse One Direct, built on the shopify system, is hopefully our online store front for both Red Devil and HeadShot(and I suppose any other products on their way down the pipeline).

This transistion comes from months and months of thinking something was working when it wasn’t, shop.reddevilusa.com. It seemed to have worked fine for me when I ran through a test purchase, but seemed to fuck anyone else that tried to use paypal to pay us. Still no idea why this happened, I’m a designer, not a coder, and we don’t have a coder in our company at all, makes doing all this really a pain in the ass, as I have no idea what the hell I’m looking at most of the day.

But now that’s all in the past as we have a new storefront, a new system, and it’s all much more pretty and web 2.0 looking, yay to that I suppose?!

    No Roskilde, Yes Rothbury

    June 12th, 2008

Well, flying to Copenhagen for a weekend isn’t in my summer budget this year, so I have to miss the Roskilde festival this year. However I did find something else to do, I’m going to see all my other friends from the purdue era of my life in Rothbury, MI for the Rothbury Festival. The line up at this year\'s Rothbury Festival
Pretty decent line up, the ones I’m really excited about finally seeing are the crystal method, atmosphere & michael franti, but we’ll see what stages I wander to, no real way of knowing what I’m going to see until I get there.

So if anyone else is going you should meet up with us, we should have a pretty good sized group all meeting from all over the country. I’m flying in from phoenix, Chris is flying up from Dallas, Emre is flying up from Houston, Jordan, Annette and Steve already live in Michigan, Amber and friends are driving up from college station, and Dan is driving in from Chicago. This is easily the most people and the most planning I’ve ever had for a festival, kind of weird, usually just get up and go at the last minute, I wonder what how this will work with this planning thing…

So here’s the new HeadShot page, I think everyone is happy with this one. Although I’m never really sure, let’s just see how long this one stays up.

    Pangea Day

    May 10th, 2008

    So I’m in Houston for a quick visit to the parents(they like to see me every few months to know I’m still kickin it) and like all other visits I spend my days in front of the projector watching CurrentTV. Although this was a special day, today was Pangea Day. An international music and film and human festival broadcast live in several countries, pretty great stuff. Click through to see what it’s all about ;
A Global Film Event Harnessing the Power of Film to Inspire and Compel Social Change

Really interesting films and performances, and they played one of my favorite animated shorts, More by Mark Osborne. I was happy to see a really positive day on current as opposed to the saddening realization of life in other countries that’s usually played on that channel.

I think my favorite part of it all was the laughing yoga, never knew such a thing existed, but now it’s all I want to be a part of. Can’t help but enjoy a man who just wants the world to laugh together.

I swear, there might just be something to the positive energy thing that I keep hearing about, because I’ll be damned if my life hasn’t gotten better since being a “+” instead of a “-”. I hope this feeling is traveling through others that are at the same point I was at. That point where I was spending everyday thinking that everything is shit and that there is no reason for hope. Getting past those thoughts, looking for something to smile about in everything that is available around you, really does make a difference, and small change really makes all the difference(seriously, look at the change jar and count that up sometimes, mine is getting pretty heavy).

You can’t change your universe in a day, you can change a small things everyday and progress towards the universe you know you should be a part of, at least thats what I’d like to think, and it’s working out for now.

So sorry if I’ve been a little preachy, but this was an awesome day on Current, and I’ve had a a great time lately with all of the humans I’ve interacted with, so thank you earth, appreciate it.

    Roskilde Festival 2008

    May 6th, 2008

Talking to my friend Eric today led me to this, the Roskilde Festival. Here’s the poster for the festival
Look at all those fucking people that will be there!!
    Click for biggie

Seems very coincidental as I’ve been trying to find something to do that weekend, and I’ve been looking for a reason to fly over to Copenhagen to visit Eric and all that he has out there.

It’s been far too long since I’ve traveled to that side of the world, now comes the fun part of trying to save up money for 4 days of goodness. Maybe I’ll set up a chipin to help me pay for fun things, surely someone will donate to that.

I really am trying to stay on top of this thing now. But old habits die hard and I’m used to simply ignoring my blog because nobody really reads it.

But that’s when I have to remind myself I’m not doing this for those people who aren’t reading this, I’m doing this for me. And I have to remember that in all aspects of life, that if I want to do something and I’m going to be made fun of for it, who cares? Because if the internet has taught me anything, it’s that everyone makes fun of everything, it’s our way of laughing at this confusing conundrum that we call life. People can take it to heart and get upset by people poking fun of their way of life, but that just means that they actually feel that way about what they are doing, and so they’re never really doing what they wanted in the first place, they were just doing what everyone expected and wanted of them.

We can not be happy without our own approval, however we strive for the approval of others so much that it we seem to forget about that simple fact. We overlook ourselves in an attempt to seem like we’re not vain, not selfish, not egotistical. But our behavior as humans leads me to believe that caring for yourself above all else is really the only way our minds know how to think.

When you think about it, we are hardwired for two things, survival and reproduction. Looking out for our best interest is really the only thing we know how to do. We try and try to create other concerns, and try to instill an idea of compassion, but at the root of it all, we care about our own survival, and it leads us to make our decisions at an instinctual, self-centered level.

We are the center of our own personal universe, and this isn’t a self-centered mentality. It becomes self centered when you expect the others around you to partake and supply your universe with what you want. When you want others to do what you say and to do your will, then you are attempting to control your universe, but you can’t control it, you can only act on the impulses of energy at certain moments in time, you can only observe and react, so you have to be watching, listening and waiting for the proper moments, and act on your base instincts. Its the old saying “You’ll know it when you see it.”

This is a very long winded and wordy way of saying you have to do what you like without worrying what others will think of you, and to not try control everything because you really aren’t in control at all. I hope these ramblings will make sense to someone out there. Let me know if it does.

    I’m going to Coachella

    April 25th, 2008

    Me and my coachella ticket
See everyone in a few days!!

After two days of use I find myself checking twitter more than digg now(which says a lot). And I only have 2 friends I’m following, man I must be lonely….

And so in the last few weeks I’ve now started to use wordpress and twitter and flickr and deviantart, i get my news from my google reader, and watch my shows with Miro…I feel like I’m actually utilizing web 2.0 instead of making fun of it, damn what’s happened to me?

More of my life will become available in time, then everyone that is spying on me without my knowledge will see what I voluntarily put out there, and they can cross reference them with their findings and see if I’m really who I think I am. Does that make sense?

    New HeadShot Website

    March 26th, 2008

Well last week I was in beautiful Arkansas again, seems to be that time of year I suppose. During the time there I put together a new site for HeadShot Mega Energy Shot.

HeadShot Site GrabHeadShot Drink PageHeadShot Contact Page

You can visit it at headshotenergyshot.com. It’s a long url, I know, so if you can understand the internet lingo you can also visit h43d5h0t.com. But i was told that was too hard to remember, so a 18 letter url is better than confusing the 35 and ups with numbers and letters in the same word.

I would say please comment and let me know what you think, but I don’t think anyone is actually reading this site, so I won’t hold my breath waiting for comments or criticism. But if there is a random traveler that manages to find this page and somehow randomly sees this post, I’d love to know what you think!

    A Week at the Lake

    February 15th, 2008

This was another class project, different class. We had to show that we knew how to edit video…

The video comes from a spring break, I believe it was 2005, but I can’t be certain(it was a really good week). We had been told that the tree in the front yard was dead and could be taken down if we wanted to. So with a broken axe everyone did what they could to bring down the old tree.

We also put gasoline into glass bottle and threw them at a fire….fun fun times.

The music is Lemon Jelly, who already made a completely awesome videofor this song, but I had video of ducks, so it seemed fitting here too.
